Murton Colliery Band

The Conductor - Dennis M Noble

Dennis has been associated with brass bands in the North East of England since 1972, where he began contesting with the Durham Constabulary Band. In 1975 when the Boundary changes came in, he transferred to the Northumbria Police Band. Here, under the guidance of the late Stan McDonald he became deputy bandmaster and eventually bandmaster.

In 1978, whilst still bandmaster at Northumbria Police, he became Musical Director of Lynemouth Colliery Band (now known as Greggs Bakery). Dennis took Lynemouth to the NCB finals, acheving 1st place in the 4th section.

Today Dennis conducts Murton Colliery Band where, again, he has acheived success. Dennis says "I am very proud to be associated with the band and look forward to progressing the band to higher aims."
